Gear Score

Gear Score is a single number that estimates how strong a piece of dungeon armor or a dungeon weapon is, so you can compare items without looking at every stat.¹ Reforges, enchantments, stars, Hot and Fuming Potato Books, the Recombobulator 3000 and Master Stars all count toward it.¹

It is only an estimate: it doesn't change the item's stats. It goes up to 5,000.¹
