Breaking Power

Breaking Power decides which blocks your tool can mine. In the mining areas every block needs a certain Breaking Power, from 0 for most normal blocks up to 9 for the rarest gemstones; with less, you can't break it.1 It doesn't apply on islands without the mining system, such as your Private Island or the Hub.1

It comes almost only from the tool itself: 33 of its 36 sources are pickaxes and drills.2 The tables below list them all.
